Can I make this happen?

Step one..

How do I get there and, will they accept me when I get here?

Naturally I hopped onto the New Zealand immigration website and took a quick quiz to assess if I am valuable to the New Zealand public. As with most immigration tests, I didn’t make the grade. Further reading revealed there are numerous opportunities for a bloke like myself to obtain New Zealand fame. I read into all my available options.

From what I understand, the best way to enter the country would be on a working visa. I guess I will need to find some Kiwi to take a chance on an unskilled Canadian. Well I wouldn’t call myself unskilled, but it would be easier if I had a trade skill under my belt. I considered a working holiday visa but I want to stay in one location and not muck about like a homeless dole bludger. Leave the working holiday visa to the backpackers of the world. I will continue to explore my options.

I have also investigated options of becoming a goodwill ambassador for some Canadian corporations. Time will tell if such pursuits will have a lucrative conclusion.

Roadblock..

I can’t just Wisk myself off to a land of wonder without taking care of business here. I have debt, huge debt. Debt thanks to college and years working for a company that doesn’t pay enough to support a mouse. I figure I have about 20K to pay up before I may be free. The last three months, I have achieved one goal of eliminating one credit card in which I owed 3k. I also realized how horrible my credit rating is. Now that I work for a bank, I am concerned about such things. I tried working two jobs for the past three months however I quickly realized that working seven days a week could quickly drain a person and promptly send someone to the loony bin.

I have been keeping a low profile for five months now. Been working, cutting down my expenses and paying bills. A dull life but when I think of the overall rewards, paying outstanding expenses is a small sacrifice to make.
